Service Evaluation Report 2022

We're delighted to share our Service Evaluation Report for 2022, which analyses the responses we received from our survey of service users.

This year's evaluation was conducted by Arden University's School of Criminal Justice, and we are very grateful for their support in producing such an insightful report.

The evaluation was intended to help us get a better sense of the impact of the work we do, and as such, we asked people to reflect on whether they had noticed any changes in four key areas as a result of getting a befriender.  We were pleased to see positive responses (‘better’ / ‘much better’) at the following rates:

  • How they feel about getting through their sentence: 87%
  • How they feel about themselves: 79%
  • How they feel about their future: 79%
  • How connected they feel to the outside world: 79%

These results have helped confirm the rehabilitative potential of befriending, and we are also pleased to note that 98% of respondents would recommend us to another person in prison.

I hope that you will enjoy reading the report and finding out more about the work that we do.
