Bath Half Marathon 2025

We are delighted to have had 3 fantastic runners at yesterday's Bath Half Marathon, so far raising a combined total of £1,407 for New Bridge, and achieving a PB on the way!

Suzie, who has been a befriender for almost a year, took on the event with her colleague Fran and his uncle Franceso.

Suzie told us about her training and the event itself:

"Bath was my 5th half marathon and I am currently training for the London marathon too. I have been doing some long distance running, speed, hill and tempo sessions, battling a little with a tight hamstring and some knee pain so I was a bit nervous about the event and how it would go.

It was a beautiful, cold, crisp, sunny day and there was a lovely atmosphere at the race village in Victoria Park with crowds of people.  The race route took you along the streets of Bath across the river, looping round for a second lap. There were lots of crowds cheering and music playing and lots of money being raised for charity. I saw a chicken, rhino, bee, Father Christmas and a man running for Great Ormond Street with a cement mixer on his back!

I made it up the killer hill at the end back into Victoria Park with a personal best time of 1 hour 52 minutes which I was thrilled with.

The 2 Italian Francescos also running for New Bridge really enjoyed the event; for one of them it was his first time.

Anyone thinking of doing any distance of sponsored run for New Bridge I urge you to go for it and am more than happy to help advise and encourage! Thank you to anyone who donated."
