Support our campaign to keep prisoners connected

Lord Longford founded New Bridge in 1956 and we are proud to continue his legacy to this day, providing human connection to those who society has written off.

Our volunteers befriend isolated people in prison, connecting through letters, emails and visits. They are there to provide an empathetic listening ear during the most difficult of times.

We have seen unprecedented demand for our service over the last 18 months, with new applications from isolated prisoners arriving every week. We are working hard to meet that demand by recruiting, training and supporting new and experienced volunteers as they make new connections with prisoners through letters and visits. We receive no Government funding and are entirely reliant on donations.

As we near our 70th year, we need your help so we can continue befriending people who have nowhere else to turn.
